Arcade Fire will perform at the Juno Awards 2022

Arcade Fire teased their first album in five years, Wefor weeks, and now it’s been announced that the band will also be performing at the 2022 Juno Awards. This will be the first in-person iteration of the event since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The group, which debuted on the Montreal indie scene more than two decades ago, is no stranger to the Junos: Arcade Fire has won 11 Junos, scooped up 27 nominations and also won a Grammy for the album of the year for his third album, 2010s The suburbs. When Arcade Fire won its 2010 Grammy, many Americans still didn’t know who the band was.

But that’s not the end of the resume: as one of the most influential bands to come out of Canada, Arcade Fire have also been nominated for an Oscar, won the Polaris Music Prize, released a horror, collaborated with David Bowie and Mavis Staples, wrote a 45-minute instrumental piece for meditation app Headspace, and recorded a heart-pounding version of “Baby Mine” for the 2019 Disney movie live-action. Dumbo.

This will be Arcade Fire’s first performance at the Junos since debuting in 2018, where the band performed the track from their 2017 album, Everything now, which also won album of the year. Current band members include Win Butler, RĂ©gine Chassagne, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. Long time member go butlerWin’s brother, announced earlier this week that he is no longer with the band, despite recording on their upcoming album.

The Juno Awards 2022 will take place after Arcade Fire’s album We was released on May 6, which will give fans plenty of time to buckle up before Arcade Fire’s performance.
