Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada presented their Spring/Summer 2023 show for Prada at Milan Fashion Week with a collection called “Touch of Crude”.
The co-creative directors teamed up with director Nicolas Winding Refn for the anticipated spectacle, from the invites to the immersive on-site installation. The models stepped out in looks described to illustrate a “sequence of realities”, with colors and materials contrasting with each other.
Opening looks featured work-ready jackets paired with skinny pants, as well as sheer dresses that featured Prada’s signature triangle logo on the chest. Slits were seen on strappy dresses, mesh dresses and skirts, revealing layered details to add a touch of contrast. These cuts were accompanied by brightly colored handbags, as well as extra-heavyweight false eyelashes, one of the key glamorous looks seen throughout the show. Elsewhere, floral brooches debuted in brown, beige, pink and more, while the runway ended with prints on dresses, followed by all-black numbers.
