Starting today, November 24th, the old town of Krems will be transformed and presented in its Christmas garb for a month.
At the Krems Advent Magic, more than 200 Christmas shops, wintry gastronomy and traditional handicrafts create the right atmosphere. The magic was opened this afternoon by the choir of the Krems-Stein elementary school and it runs until December 24th.
Christmas lights shine on the 700 meter long pedestrian zone and in the side streets, and there are also special photo points where you can take souvenir snapshots.
Wachau mulled wine and carriage rides
At the Christmas huts there is homemade Wachau mulled wine, chestnuts and tender waffles. There is a full program throughout Advent on several squares in the city centre.
The program ranges from carriage rides, barrel organ players and alphorn blowers to Christmas cabaret. You can also meet Santa Claus on the streets of Krems while he is handing out sweets.
The craft stands are open every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mulled wine is available most days between 3pm and 8pm. All information about the program is available at www.krems.info
