LONDON, May 30, 2022 /CNW/ — International Mountain Tourism Day activity kicked off online on May 27e May and until 29e May. It was commissioned by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA).
The events took place both online and offline around the world. It focused on the concept of “rebuilding tourism after the pandemic”, “reviving healthy lifestyles” and “reconnecting intercontinental dialogue”, highlighting the theme “Mountain tourism promotes healthy life and cultural exchanges”.
The events were supported by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA). The head of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of ChinaShao Qiwei-Vice Chairman of IMTA, Lu Yongzheng-Member of Standing Committee of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and Head of Publicity Department of CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee, He Yafei-General Secretary of IMTA, Maribel Rodriguez-WTTC Senior Vice President, Membership & Commercial, AkiKarihtala-INWA President, Georgia Ambassador to Chinadeputy head of mission of the embassy of israel in China shared their constructive conversation and experience.
In addition, the events brought together IMTA members, destination institutions and agencies, businesses and experts across five continents. Delegates and guests from over 30 countries conducted multi-dimensional, multi-level and diverse cloud interactions around the theme and three major topics to discuss, build and share the bright future of mountain tourism.
The events were updated simultaneously on Facebook and YouTube as well as Chinese platforms such as Cultural Tourism China APP, Weibo, the head of cultural tourism in China, Tencent, and Baidu. The replay of the events could end up via the Discovery China account on social media platforms.
